October 2022 witnessed a 17.4% YoY rise in retail sales. The leading tractor manufacturer was Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, with a market share of 22.76%, and sold about 12,144 tractors in October 2022. The total number of tractors sold in the year 2022 was 53,362, which was 7,917 more in number than the previous year’s total. The below table will give a clear figure of the YoY sales growth of all tractor brands in India.
Moving towards the second position holder, the Swaraj tractor Group sold about 8800 tractors in the year 2022 with a market share of 16.49%. This was a growth of 25.93% in sales as compared to October last year. Taking this forward, Tafe Ltd. sold a lump sump of 7751 tractors this October with a market share of 14.53%. This was a growth of 51.92% as compared to October last year.
While International Tractors Ltd. saw a growth of 13.7% by selling 8,793 tractors this October with a market share of 10.86%. Escorts tractor sold about 5327 tractors this October as compared to 4319 tractors in October last year. Hence, there was a YoY growth of 23.33% witnessed this October.
Eicher tractors sold about 3124 tractors this October as compared to 2625 tractors sold last year. This was a growth of 19% as compared to the previous year. Eicher had a market share of 5.85% this year.
In such scenarios, John Deere tractor witnessed a YoY decline of 0.02% this year. The company sold 4264 tractors with a market share of 7.99% this year, which was lower than the previous year (4326 tractors).
CNH Industrial India PVT Ltd, too, witnessed a growth of 16.59% this October, selling 2066 units of tractors with a market share of 3.87%. This was a better market performance than the last year as it sold over 1722 tractor units.
Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd. witnessed a growth of 15.26% in YoY sales last year, selling about 1269 tractors this October. The company's market share of 2.38% this October in total retail sales.
Captain Tractors Pvt. Ltd. sold about 626 units of tractors this October as compared to 215 tractors sold the previous year. This was a YoY growth of 191.16%. The company had a market share of 1.17% this year compared to a market share of 0.47% the previous year.
VST tractor sold 522 units of tractors this October as compared to 410 tractors sold the previous year. This was a retail YoY growth of 27%. However, the company had almost the same market share the previous year (say 0.90%) as compared to this year (0.98%) in retail tractor sales.
The Indo Farm Tractor sold 278 tractor units this October which was a hike of 0.53% as in YoY sales growth in 2022. The company had a market share of 0.52% this year.
