The 7th edition of the Indian Tractor of the Year (ITOTY) Awards, powered by CEAT Specialty, was organised on 17th June at Taj Vivanta, Dwarka, New Delhi. The event witnessed participation from over 250 industry professionals, more than 20 tractor brands, financial institutions, and agriculture experts, celebrating excellence and innovation in India’s farm mechanisation sector.
Dr. C. R. Mehta, Chairman of the ITOTY Jury and Director of ICAR–Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, highlighted the increasing importance of agricultural mechanisation due to declining landholdings, labour shortages, and increasing farming expenses.
He mentioned that the Indian tractor industry recorded sales of nearly one million tractors in the previous year, marking a significant milestone. He further stated that advanced and technology-driven farm equipment would play a major role in improving agricultural productivity in the coming years.
Mohit Adnani, Associate Director at CRISIL, shared a positive outlook for the tractor sector. He pointed out that the industry witnessed approximately 27% growth during the COVID-19 period, showcasing its strength and adaptability.
Despite concerns related to monsoon irregularities and possible El Niño conditions, he estimated the tractor industry to register around 2–4% growth in FY2027. Factors such as good reservoir levels, easy availability of finance, replacement demand, government support, and GST 2.0 are expected to contribute to industry growth.
Jay Doshi, Marketing Head at CEAT Specialty, stated that ITOTY has become a respected platform that recognises achievements within India's agricultural ecosystem.
He said:
“We are proud to support a platform that honors the innovations, leadership, and organizations shaping the future of agricultural mechanization."
The ITOTY Awards honoured outstanding achievements across categories such as tractors, farm machinery, implements, and agri-finance. These awards recognised products and organisations that contributed to enhancing productivity and promoting modern agriculture.
The tractor category recognised manufacturers and products for their performance, innovation, technology, and farmer-oriented engineering.
