Mr. Hemant Sikka, President – of Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., attributed the sales growth to a combination of factors. He stated, “We have sold 35805 tractors in the domestic market during April 2024, a growth of 1% over last year. This can be attributed to the government's wheat procurement operations, which are in full swing with good mandi arrivals and maintain healthy rural cash flows”.
Furthermore, he emphasised that “The positive forecast of above-normal monsoon rains by IMD and the occurrence of festivals in April have also contributed to the growth. In terms of trade, we continue to see positive trends, and the good cash flows from the Rabi harvest are expected to further boost tractor demand in the coming months. In the exports market, we have sold 1234 tractors, a growth of 23% over last year.”
