Retail Tractor Sales Report For September 2024

On October 7, 2024, FADA released the retail tractor sales data for September. The data shows that 62,542 tractors were sold in September 2024, up from 54,529 units sold in September 2023. This represents a 14.70% growth in sales.

Brand-wise Sales Report for September 2024

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Tractor) sold 14,762 units in September 2024, an increase from 12,604 units in September 2023. This reflects a 17.12% growth. The company’s market share also rose slightly, from 23.11% to 23.60%, a change of 0.49%.

Swaraj recorded 11,011 units sold, up from 9,860 units in September 2023, marking an 11.67% growth. However, its market share declined slightly from 18.08% to 17.61%, a change of -0.47%.

International Tractors Ltd sold 8,116 units, up from 7,061 units in September 2023, showing a 14.94% growth. The market share saw a small increase, rising from 12.95% to 12.98%, a 0.03% change.

TAFE sold 7,285 units in September 2024, an increase from 6,869 units in September 2023, with a growth rate of 6.06%. Despite higher sales, TAFE’s market share dropped from 12.60% to 11.65%, a decrease of 0.95%.

Escorts Kubota Ltd (Agri Machinery Group) sold 6,313 units in September 2023, up from 5,832 units in September 2023, reflecting an 8.25% growth. However, the market share decreased slightly from 10.70% to 10.09%, a decline of 0.61%.

John Deere India Pvt Ltd (Tractor Division) sold 4,843 units, up from 3,775 units in September 2023, showing strong growth of 28.29%. Its market share also increased from 6.92% to 7.74%, a rise of 0.82%.

Eicher Tractors sold 3,804 units, slightly up from 3,745 units in September 2023, with a growth rate of 1.58%. The market share, however, declined from 6.87% to 6.08%, a drop of 0.79%.

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd sold 2,525 units, compared to 1,901 units in September 2023, marking a strong growth of 32.81%. The market share also increased from 3.49% to 4.04%, a rise of 0.55%.

Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd sold 1,201 units, up from 919 units in September 2023, showing a growth of 30.70%. Its market share grew from 1.69% to 1.92%, a rise of 0.23%.

The Other category sold 2,682 units, up from 1,963 units in September 2023, showing a growth of 36.62%. The market share also rose from 3.60% to 4.29%, a gain of 0.69%.

Overall, most manufacturers increased their sales in September 2024 compared to September 2023. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Tractor) led with the highest sales at 14,762 units. Some companies, like TAFE and Escorts Kubota, experienced slight declines in market share despite higher sales.
