India's tractor retail market maintained its strong momentum in July 2026, with total retail registrations reaching 1,17,349 units, compared to 91,604 units in July 2025. According to the latest FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations) retail registration data, the industry recorded an impressive 28.13% year-on-year (YoY) growth, highlighting sustained demand from farmers and continued investments in farm mechanisation across the country.
While almost all major tractor manufacturers posted healthy double-digit growth in retail sales, market share movements remained largely balanced, with a few OEMs strengthening their positions and others witnessing marginal declines despite higher sales volumes.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Tractor) retained its leadership position in the Indian tractor retail market. The company sold 26,863 tractors in July 2026, compared to 20,617 units during the same month last year, registering 30.31% YoY growth. Its market share also improved from 22.51% to 22.89%, gaining 0.38 percentage %.
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Swaraj Division) continued its impressive performance by retailing 22,334 tractors, up from 16,733 units in July 2025. The brand recorded 33.41% growth, while its market share increased from 18.27% to 19.03%, reflecting a 0.76 percentage point gain.
International Tractors Limited reported retail sales of 15,991 tractors, compared to 12,824 units a year ago, registering 24.69% YoY growth. However, its market share slipped slightly from 14.00% to 13.63%, a decline of 0.37 percentage % as the overall market expanded at a faster pace.
TAFE Limited delivered one of the strongest performances during the month. Retail sales increased to 14,178 units from 9,655 units last year, translating into an impressive 46.83% YoY growth. The company also recorded the highest market share gain among major OEMs, improving from 10.54% to 12.08%, an increase of 1.54 percentage %.

Escorts Kubota Limited (Agri Machinery Group) retailed 12,782 tractors in July 2026 against 9,202 units in the corresponding month last year, registering 39.01% growth. The company's market share rose from 10.05% to 10.89%, gaining 0.84 percentage %.
John Deere India Pvt. Ltd. sold 8,087 tractors, compared to 6,986 units in July 2025, reflecting 15.73% YoY growth. Despite higher sales, its market share declined from 7.63% to 6.89%, resulting in a 0.74 percentage point decrease.
Eicher Tractors retailed 7,910 units during July 2026, up from 6,321 units in the previous year, registering 25.13% growth. However, its market share dipped marginally from 6.90% to 6.74%, a decline of 0.16 percentage %.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt. Ltd. continued its strong retail performance by selling 5,417 tractors, compared to 3,932 units in July 2025. The company posted 37.79% YoY growth, while its market share improved from 4.29% to 4.62%, gaining 0.33 percentage %.
The Others category witnessed another month of decline. Retail sales dropped to 3,787 units from 5,334 units last year, representing a 29.01% decline. Consequently, market share fell sharply from 5.82% to 3.23%, losing 2.59 percentage %, indicating stronger consolidation among leading tractor manufacturers.
The Indian tractor retail market remained on a strong growth trajectory in July 2026, with retail sales exceeding 1.17 lakh units. Leading manufacturers continued to benefit from healthy rural demand, favourable agricultural sentiment, and increasing adoption of farm mechanisation. TAFE emerged as the fastest-growing major OEM during the month, while Mahindra & Mahindra (Tractor) retained its leadership in retail sales. Although a few manufacturers experienced marginal declines in market share, the overall market reflected broad-based growth, signalling continued strength in India's agricultural equipment sector.
