Chennai, April 2, 2026: Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), India’s second-largest tractor maker and a leading global manufacturer, has reported record sales in FY26. The company sold around 2,14,951 tractors, the highest ever in its history. This performance outpaced the overall growth of the domestic tractor industry.

March Sales Show Big Jump

TAFE ended FY26 on a high note, with March 2026 sales growing 37.4%, compared to 29% growth in the domestic tractor industry. The growth was driven by a strong lineup of tractor models, effective farmer engagement programs, and steady demand from key agricultural regions across India.

Domestic and Global Performance

Both TAFE brands, Massey Ferguson and Eicher Tractors, achieved their highest-ever domestic sales in FY26. The company also exported 12,584 tractors to international markets. This shows TAFE’s strong global presence and balanced growth strategy.

TAFE Comments on FY26 Success

Dr. Lakshmi Venu, Vice Chairman of TAFE, said, “This has been a very positive year for both the tractor market and for farmers across the country. In addition to favourable monsoons, the government’s move to reduce GST has provided significant relief to the farming sector.

We are now seeing a very encouraging trend in the penetration of mechanisation in rural areas. This year marks a meaningful shift in the access to mechanisation for small farmers with many first time users entering the mechanization ecosystem. This will go a long way in improving farm productivity and strengthening farmer incomes across the country. At TAFE, we have remained sharply focused on the rapidly evolving preferences of our customers in this sector, and it is this focus that has enabled us to perform well in the market this year.”

Future Outlook

To meet growing demand, TAFE’s factories ran at full capacity throughout the year, and the company is considering expanding production. Despite global uncertainties and rising costs due to geopolitical tensions, TAFE remains optimistic about continued growth in both domestic and export markets. This growth is supported by increased mechanisation, replacement demand, and broader applications of tractors and implements.
