Brand-wise retail tractor sales report January 2026

Tractor retail sales in India saw strong growth in January 2026, showing better demand at dealerships. Total retail sales reached 1,13,210 units, compared to 92,337 units in January 2025. This marks a 22.61% year-on-year increase, indicating a positive start to the year for the tractor industry. The Sales rose due to higher buying activity at tractor dealerships.

Leading Brands Continue to Dominate Sales

Mahindra continued to lead tractor retail sales in January 2026, selling 25,995 units. While its sales grew by 17.77%, its market share declined slightly to 22.96%, compared to 23.90% last year. Swaraj remained in second place with 21,911 units, supported by a strong 26.38% growth, which helped increase its market share to 19.35%.

Sonalika stood third after selling 15,376 tractors, up from 12,299 units in January last year, improving its market share to 13.58%. Massey Ferguson followed with sales of 13,460 units, maintaining a steady presence in the market. Escorts also performed strongly, selling 12,311 tractors and recording a sharp 34.75% growth, which pushed its market share up to 10.87%.

Other Brands Show Mixed Results

John Deere sold 7,895 units, though its market share slipped slightly to 6.97%. Eicher followed closely with 7,814 units, and its market share improved to 6.90%. Meanwhile, New Holland recorded sales of 5,336 units, which helped raise its share to 4.71%.

Among smaller brands, Trakstar posted strong growth of 75.57%, selling 697 units during the month. VST sold 399 units, keeping its market share unchanged from last year. Indo Farm reported sales of 290 units, showing gradual improvement. Whereas Captain’s sales declined to 341 units, while Kubota saw a sharp fall to 184 units, down from 1,628 units a year ago. Preet and ACE also recorded lower sales, while SDF showed growth from a small base.

Tractor Market Outlook

Overall, January 2026 retail data shows that tractor demand is gaining strength. While established brands continue to lead, changing sales patterns across manufacturers highlight shifting buyer preferences and active competition in the market.
