Gromax Agri Equipment, formerly Mahindra Gujarat Tractor, has rolled out a new range of tractors celebrating its 25th anniversary. The business is a joint venture with the Government of Gujarat and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Two new models of 4WD tractors, the Trakstar 525 and Trakstar 536, have been launched by the company. Apart from this, new 2WD models of 24HP, 31HP, and 36HP have also been launched. These tractors are specially intended for orchard farming. To fulfill the requirement of the younger farmers, the company has launched saffron and black colour schemes. This special colour scheme makes them unique in the market.
In 1999, the company was renamed Mahindra Gujarat Tractor after Mahindra & Mahindra acquired a majority share in the firm. Subsequently, in 2017, the firm was rebranded as Gromax Agri Equipment, emphasizing its focus on providing affordable and varied farm equipment.
In the past 25 years, Gromax has expanded its product portfolio to a large extent. The company used to have only four models of tractors. Now it has more than 40 models in the range of 20HP to 50HP. The company markets tractors in the Trakstar and Hindustan brands and farm implements in the Trakmate brand.
Hemant Sikka, Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector President, expressed his gratitude to customers, partners, the Government of Gujarat, and employees for the support they have continued to bestow upon them.
He explained that the firm is now shifting to a new era of expansion, with an objective of aiding Indian farmers by using modern and advanced farm machinery.
Currently, Mahindra & Mahindra has a 60% share in Gromax Agri Equipment and the Government of Gujarat has the remaining 40%. The manufacturing unit of the company is situated in Vadodara, Gujarat.
