Tractor retail sales in India has maintained strong growth in April FY 2026, it reflects healthy rural demand and increasing agricultural tractors across the country. According to the latest FADA retail data, total tractor sales reached 75,109 units in April FY 2026, compared to 60,956 units in April FY 2025. This marks an overall growth of 23.07% in the Indian tractor market.

Mahindra & Mahindra (Tractor Division) continued to dominate the tractor retail market during the month. The company sold 16,894 tractors in April FY 2026, compared to 14,049 units during the same period last year. This reflects a growth of 20.23%. However, the company’s market share declined slightly from 23.05% to 22.49%, registering a marginal drop of 0.56%. Despite the slight decline in market share, Mahindra retained its leadership position due to its strong sales volume and widespread rural presence.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Swaraj Division also posted strong retail growth in April FY 2026. The company recorded sales of 14,598 units against 11,608 units in April FY 2025, showing a growth of 25.73%. The brand’s market share increased from 19.04% to 19.44%, reflecting a gain of 0.40%. The performance highlights continued demand for Swaraj tractors, especially in the medium horsepower category among Indian farmers.

International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) emerged as one of the key gainers during the month. The company sold 10,472 tractors in April FY 2026, compared to 7,788 units in April FY 2025. This represents a strong growth of 34.53%. Along with volume growth, Sonalika also improved its market share from 12.78% to 13.94%, gaining 1.16%. The company’s performance in dicates growing customer preference and stronger market penetration in several agricultural regions.

Escorts Kubota Limited (Agri Machinery Group) also delivered impressive retail numbers in April FY 2026. The company sold 8,580 tractors compared to 6,363 units in April FY 2025, recording a growth of 34.83%. Its market share rose from 10.44% to 11.42%, reflecting an improvement of 0.98%. Escorts Kubota remained among the fastest-growing brands during the month, supported by increasing demand for technologically advanced tractors.

TAFE Limited registered sales of 8,437 units in April FY 2026, compared to 6,846 units during April FY 2025. This indicates a healthy growth of 23.25%. The company’s market share remained stable at 11.23% during both periods, showing consistent market performance despite rising competition in the industry.

John Deere India (Tractor Division) reported sales of 5,287 tractors in April FY 2026 against 5,008 units in April FY 2025. The company posted a comparatively moderate growth of 5.58%. However, its market share declined from 8.22% to 7.04%, reflecting a decrease of 1.18%. The lower growth compared to competitors resulted in pressure on the brand’s overall market share.

Eicher Tractors sold 4,510 units in April FY 2026, compared to 3,667 units in the corresponding period last year. This reflects a growth of 22.93%. Despite positive volume growth, the company’s market share remained nearly unchanged, slightly declining from 6.02% to 6%.

Among all major brands, CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd recorded the highest growth rate during April FY 2026. The company sold 3,864 tractors compared to 2,561 units in April FY 2025, registering an impressive growth of 50.81%. Its market share improved from 4.2% to 5.14%, marking a gain of 0.94%. The company’s strong growth highlights increasing acceptance of its tractor range in the Indian market.

Meanwhile, the “Others” category reported a decline in retail sales. Sales dropped from 3,066 units in April FY 2025 to 2,467 units in April FY 2026, reflecting a decline of 19.53%. Its market share also declined from 5.03% to 3.28%, showing a drop of 1.75%. This indicates that organised tractor manufacturers continue to strengthen their position in the industry.

Overall, the Indian tractor retail market witnessed strong growth in April FY 2026. Several leading brands posted double-digit growth, while companies like Sonalika, Escorts Kubota, and CNH Industrial emerged as key market share gainers during the month. The overall market trend suggests continued momentum in tractor demand as farmers increasingly invest in suitable tractors to improve agricultural productivity.
