Domestic Tractor Sales Reach 11,60,231 Units, Up 23.47% in FY 2025-26

The domestic tractor industry recorded total sales of 11,60,231 units in FY 2025-26, showing strong activity in the market. In comparison, sales in FY 2024-25 stood at 9,39,713 units. This represents a significant growth of 23.47% year-on-year. The increase highlights rising demand for tractors and expanding mechanization across farms, reflecting positive trends in rural buying and overall agricultural development.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales - FY 2025-26

Mahindra & Mahindra Group sold 5,05,930 tractors in FY 2025-26. In FY 2024-25, the company had sold 4,07,094 units. This represents a growth of 24.28%. Its market share also improved slightly to 43.61% from 43.32%, showing a gain of 0.28% and maintaining its lead in the domestic tractor market.

TAFE recorded sales of 2,02,367 units, up from 1,59,880 units in FY 2024-25. The growth was 26.57%. Its market share increased to 17.44% from 17.01%, a gain of 0.43%. These numbers highlight strong demand for TAFE tractors and its stable position as the second-largest manufacturer.

Sonalika recorded sales of 1,50,179 units in FY 2025-26, compared to 1,23,764 units in FY 2024-25. This represents a growth of 21.34%. Despite higher sales, its market share declined slightly to 12.94% from 13.17%, a drop of 0.23%.

Escorts Kubota sold 1,26,994 tractors, higher than 1,10,563 units in FY 2024-25. The growth stood at 14.86%. However, its market share fell to 10.95% from 11.77%, a decrease of 0.82%. 

John Deere delivered 98,772 units, up from 79,773 units in FY 2024-25. This shows a growth of 23.82%. The market share edged up slightly to 8.51% from 8.49%, a gain of 0.02%. Sales growth reflects steady demand and stable performance among India’s leading tractor brands.

New Holland sold 53,225 tractors, compared to 38,864 units in FY 2024-25. This marks a strong growth of 36.95%. The market share increased to 4.59% from 4.14%, a rise of 0.45%.

Preet Tractors sold 5,068 units. In FY 2024-25, the company had sold 4,765 units, showing a growth of 6.36%. Its market share dropped slightly to 0.44% from 0.51%, a decline of 0.07%. 

Indo Farm sold 4,862 tractors, up from 4,399 units in FY 2024-25. This is a growth of 10.53%. Its market share declined slightly to 0.42% from 0.47%, a drop of 0.05%. The results reflect steady sales, though the brand remains a minor player in the market.

VST Tractors recorded 4,602 units sold, compared to 3,857 units in FY 2024-25. The growth rate was 19.32%. However, its market share slightly declined to 0.40% from 0.41%. Despite higher sales, the brand’s overall presence in the market remains small.

Captain Tractors sold 4,506 units, an increase from 3,473 units in FY 2024-25. This represents a growth of 29.74%. The market share rose marginally to 0.39% from 0.37%, showing a gain of 0.02%.

ACE sold 2,810 units, compared to 2,610 units in FY 2024-25. This shows a growth of 7.66%. Its market share fell to 0.24% from 0.28%, a decrease of 0.04%.

SDF delivered 916 units, up from 671 units in FY 2024-25. This marks a growth of 36.51%. Its market share increased slightly to 0.08% from 0.07%, a gain of 0.01%. Despite being a smaller player, the brand showed strong sales growth in the financial year.

Overall Tractor Market 

The FY 2025-26 performance highlights a healthy and competitive tractor market in India. Brands like M&M, TAFE, New Holland, and John Deere strengthened their positions, while smaller players such as Captain and SDF also showed growth. The overall trend points to a growing focus on mechanization and improving farm efficiency, setting a positive tone for the upcoming financial year.
