TAFE organised a large customer celebration event in Morinda on 20 May to mark a major milestone of 50,000 Massey Ferguson tractor users. Farmers, dealers, and company teams came together for this special programme.
The event included live webcast screenings across dealerships in India, cake-cutting celebrations, tractor display zones, and test drives. Farmers explored farming applications like cultivation, transport, and equipment use. Models showcased included Massey Ferguson 254 DynaSmart, Massey Ferguson 241 DI, Massey Ferguson 1035 DI, and Massey Ferguson 5118.
The celebration event included multiple interactive and community-focused activities. Dealerships across the country joined the programme through live webcast screenings, allowing wider participation beyond the event location.
Farmers at the venue also took part in test drives, product discussions, and model demonstrations. The showcase mainly featured tractors suited for daily farming needs as well as heavier field operations.
A major attraction at the event was the Massey Ferguson 254 DynaSmart, positioned for demanding agricultural work. It comes with a 50 HP engine and a strong lifting power of 2050 kg. This makes it useful for heavy farm work and big implements. Farmers liked its fuel-saving nature, low maintenance needs, and ability to work with many types of farm equipment.
Farmers at the Morinda programme were introduced to the Massey Ferguson 241 DI as a strong option for everyday agricultural work. The 42 HP tractor, already in use by over 5 lakh farmers in India, was displayed as a better option for regular field and transport tasks.
During the event, attention was given to its strong build, including a front bumper, 7-pin trailer socket, and 35 kg rear weights. Farmers also checked the ease of use, fuel efficiency, and ability to perform smoothly during long hours of farming activity.
Another highlight was the Massey Ferguson 1035 DI, presented as a better option for varied farm activities. The 36 HP model comes with two gearbox options: 6 Forward + 2 Reverse and 8 Forward + 2 Reverse, giving farmers flexibility in different field conditions. It is equipped with a 47-litre fuel tank that supports longer working hours without frequent refuelling. The tractor also includes a 2100-hour warranty, offering added support for regular farming and transport use.
The Massey Ferguson 5118 was showcased as a compact solution for smaller farming tasks. With a 20 HP engine, it is suitable for ploughing, tilling, and haulage work. It delivers 17.2 PTO HP, enabling smooth operation of implements like rotavators and threshers. A 750 kg lifting capacity further supports basic load-handling requirements in daily agricultural use.
The event was organised by TAFE, which started in 1960 in Chennai. Today, it is one of the biggest tractor makers in the world and sells over 2 lakh tractors every year. TAFE works with brands like Massey Ferguson India, TAFE Tractors, Eicher Tractors, and IMT. It sells tractors in more than 80 countries.
The company also works in farm machines, engines, generators, hydraulic systems, and other engineering products. Over the years, it has grown through key acquisitions like Eicher Tractors, IMT Serbia, and FAURECIA India.
TAFE recently conducted DYNASTAR programmes to connect with farmers and understand their needs better. Farmers shared their ideas and experiences to improve farming methods and make better use of tractors in daily agricultural work.
