Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has released its tractor sales figures for September 2026. The company sold 50,208 tractors in the domestic market, compared with 64,946 units in September 2025, marking a 23% year-on-year decline.

According to the company, the decline was mainly linked to the shift in the festive season, which is beginning in October this year instead of September as seen last year. The comparison was also influenced by the higher sales base in September 2025, which received a boost from the implementation of the GST rate cut during the period.

Meanwhile, Mahindra recorded 1,892 tractor exports in September 2026, registering a 62% year-on-year increase over the 1,165 units exported in September 2025.

Festive Season Shift Affects Mahindra Tractor Sales

Mahindra linked the September decline in domestic tractor sales primarily to the change in the festive season calendar. The festive season is starting in October 2026, while it commenced in September last year.

The company also pointed to the higher base recorded in September 2025, when sales benefited from the implementation of the GST rate cut. These factors contributed to the year-on-year decline in September 2026 domestic sales.

Company’s Statement

Commenting on the company's September 2026 sales performance, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “We have sold 50,208 tractors in the domestic market during September 2026. The year-on-year decline in volumes is primarily attributable to the festive season shift, commencing in October this year, as compared to September last year. The comparison is also impacted by a higher base in September 2025, which benefited from the implementation of the GST rate cut during the period. In the exports market, we have sold 1,892 tractors.”
