The increase reflects the company's strong dealer network and continued preference among farmers across important agricultural states.
Mahindra & Mahindra (Swaraj Division) also recorded healthy growth during the month. The company retailed 15,205 units in May FY 2026 against 13,649 units in the corresponding period last year, posting a growth of 11.45%. Its market share remained largely stable, increasing slightly from 18.26% to 18.30%, resulting in a gain of 0.04%. Swaraj continued to witness steady demand, particularly in northern and central India.
International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) maintained its strong market performance in May FY 2026. The company sold 11,120 tractors, compared to 9,865 units in May FY 2025, recording a growth of 12.71%. Sonalika's market share increased from 13.20% to 13.38%, gaining 0.18%. The growth indicates consistent demand for the company's tractor portfolio across various farming segments.
TAFE Limited emerged as one of the strongest performers among major manufacturers during the month. The company recorded sales of 10,659 tractors, compared to 7,503 units in May FY 2025, reflecting an impressive growth of 42.06%. Its market share rose significantly from 10.04% to 12.83%, marking a gain of 2.79%. TAFE registered the highest market share improvement among major tractor manufacturers during the month.
Escorts Kubota Limited (Agri Machinery Group) also posted encouraging growth figures. The company sold 9,539 tractors in May FY 2026 compared to 8,172 units in May FY 2025, recording a growth of 16.69%. Its market share improved from 10.93% to 11.48%, registering a gain of 0.55%. The performance highlights increasing acceptance of Escorts Kubota tractors among Indian farmers.
John Deere India (Tractor Division) reported sales of 6,039 tractors during May FY 2026 against 5,900 units in May FY 2025. The company recorded a modest growth of 2.35%. However, its market share declined from 7.89% to 7.27%, resulting in a decrease of 0.62%. Despite positive sales growth, the brand's pace lagged behind the overall market expansion.
Eicher Tractors registered sales of 4,922 units in May FY 2026, compared to 4,450 units during the same period last year, reflecting a growth of 10.59%. However, its market share remained almost unchanged, marginally declining from 5.95% to 5.92%, a drop of 0.03%.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd continued its growth trajectory during the month. The company sold 3,857 tractors in May FY 2026, compared to 3,103 units in May FY 2025, registering a growth of 24.38%. Its market share improved from 4.15% to 4.64%, gaining 0.49%. The company benefited from strong demand across several agricultural markets.
Meanwhile, the Others category witnessed a significant decline in sales. Retail volumes dropped from 5,583 units in May FY 2025 to 2,674 units in May FY 2026, reflecting a decline of 52.13%. Its market share also fell sharply from 7.47% to 3.22%, a loss of 4.25%. This indicates that leading organised tractor manufacturers continued strengthening their position within the market.
Overall, the Indian tractor retail market recorded healthy growth during May FY 2026, supported by positive rural sentiment and continued mechanisation trends. Among the major brands, TAFE Limited, CNH Industrial, Escorts Kubota, and Mahindra & Mahindra (Tractor Division) emerged as key gainers in terms of market share.
