CNH Industrial is planning to invest around ₹2,000 crore in India by 2030 as part of its expansion strategy. The investment includes a new tractor manufacturing plant near Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh and additional spending on research and product development.

According to CNH Industrial India President and Managing Director Narinder Mittal, the company has finalised an investment of ₹1,000 crore for the new tractor plant at the Yamuna Expressway, close to its existing Greater Noida facility. The project is expected to help the company double its tractor manufacturing capacity from 70,000 units to 1.4 lakh units annually.

₹1,000 Crore Investment Planned for New Tractor Plant

CNH Industrial will invest ₹1,000 crore in the new greenfield tractor manufacturing facility. The plant will be located near the company’s existing Greater Noida facility in Uttar Pradesh.

The company has been allotted 100 acres of land by the Yamuna Expressway Authority for the project. The expansion is planned at a new location because the existing Greater Noida plant has limited land available for further expansion.

Tractor Manufacturing Capacity to Reach 1.4 Lakh Units

The new facility is expected to significantly increase CNH Industrial’s tractor production capacity in India.

The company currently has a manufacturing capacity of around 70,000 tractors annually. With the planned expansion, this capacity is expected to increase to 1.4 lakh tractors per year by 2030.

The first phase of the new facility is expected to add 20,000 tractors to the company’s annual capacity and is targeted to become operational by mid-2028. The complete capacity expansion to 1.4 lakh tractors is planned by 2030.

Additional ₹1,000 Crore for R&D and Product Development

Apart from the manufacturing plant, CNH Industrial plans to invest another ₹1,000 crore in research and development and product development.

The investment will support products for both the Indian and export markets, strengthening the company’s focus on India as a manufacturing and product development base.

CNH Industrial Targets Higher Market Share in India

CNH Industrial is also targeting significant growth in its tractor business in India. The company aims to increase its market share to double digits and enter the top four tractor manufacturers in India within four to five years.

The company’s tractor market share was around 5% in 2026, compared with 4.3% in 2025, according to company management. Its tractor sales volume increased by 42% during the first half of calendar year 2026.

CNH Industrial’s Manufacturing Presence in India

CNH Industrial currently operates three manufacturing facilities in India. Its Greater Noida plant manufactures tractors and engines, the Pune facility produces sugarcane harvesters and balers, while the Pithampur facility manufactures construction equipment.

The company also operates four R&D centres in India, including a global capability centre in Gurgaon that employs more than 500 engineers.

Greater Noida Plant Has Produced 8 Lakh Tractors

CNH India’s existing Greater Noida manufacturing facility recently crossed the milestone of producing its 800,000th tractor. The plant has been operational since 1999 and manufactures tractors for both domestic and export markets.

CNH said in July 2026 that the facility had an annual production capacity of approximately 60,000 tractors, which was being ramped up to 70,000 units. The plant manufactures tractors under the New Holland and Case IH brands and exports products to more than 90 countries.

India Becomes a Key Market for CNH Industrial

India has become an important market in CNH Industrial’s global strategy. The company reported revenue of around ₹8,600 crore in India in calendar year 2025, with approximately ₹6,200 crore from the agriculture business and ₹2,400 crore from construction equipment, according to company management.

With the planned ₹2,000 crore investment, CNH Industrial is looking to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen R&D and increase its presence in both the Indian and international tractor markets.
