Montra Electric Puts Seven E-45 Tractors to Work at Action TESA’s Visakhapatnam Plant

Visakhapatnam: Montra Electric, the Murugappa Group’s electric commercial vehicle and electric tractor brand, has put seven E-45 electric tractors into service at Action TESA’s manufacturing plant in Visakhapatnam. The tractors will handle material movement inside the facility and make the plant’s logistics cleaner.

The company estimates that the change will save around 50,000 litres of diesel each year and prevent 131 tonnes of tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions. The plant is also expected to save ₹40 lakh annually in running costs, so the switch benefits both the environment and the plant’s finances.

Electric vehicles enter the MDF industry

Until now, the plant used diesel vehicles to carry materials between different sections. The new tractors replace them, which brings electric mobility into Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) manufacturing for the first time. The deployment also shows that factories can run electric vehicles for everyday tasks without a drop in performance.

Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director of Montra Electric, said the MDF and plywood industry has a lot of room to adopt clean energy for material handling. Vivek Jain, Managing Director of Action TESA, said the project fits the company’s effort to look at sustainable options that reduce its dependence on diesel while keeping operations running smoothly.
