KisanKraft Electric Inter-Cultivator and Reaper Launch in India

KisanKraft Limited has introduced two new electric farm machines in India - the E-Inter-Cultivator and the E-Self-Propelled Reaper. Developed and manufactured in India, these battery-powered machines are designed mainly for small and medium-scale farmers. With this launch, the company aims to lower farming expenses while making field operations more efficient and convenient.

Electric Farm Machines to Reduce Operating Costs

According to KisanKraft, the new electric machines can cut operating costs by over 90% compared to conventional petrol-powered equipment. The company stated that while a petrol-operated machine costs nearly ₹170 per hour to operate, the electric versions require only about ₹10 per hour, offering significant savings for farmers.

Unlike converted petrol models, both machines have been developed on a dedicated electric platform. KisanKraft also revealed that the equipment underwent more than 100 hours of testing across different soil conditions and crop fields in India. Additionally, the E-Inter-Cultivator has received certification from the Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (FMTTI).

Designed for Weeding and Harvesting

The E-Inter-Cultivator is intended for weeding and interculture operations. It is equipped with 32 J-shaped blades, weighs around 150 kg, covers nearly one acre per hour, and offers a runtime of up to 3.5 hours on a single charge. It also features a reverse drive function, making it easier to manoeuvre in smaller fields.

Meanwhile, the E-Self-Propelled Reaper is built for harvesting crops such as paddy, wheat, millets, and soybean. It can also operate in moderately wet paddy fields, covers approximately one acre per hour, and delivers up to 4 hours of operation on a full battery charge.

Both machines are powered by a removable Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which takes approximately 5.5 hours to charge completely. KisanKraft said the machines feature an IP67-rated motor and controller, providing better protection against dust and water. Since they do not require fuel, engine oil, filters, carburettors, or spark plugs, maintenance costs and operating noise are also significantly reduced.

Looking ahead, the company plans to introduce IoT-enabled features, including battery health monitoring through a mobile application and geofencing support for rental fleet management.

The newly launched electric farm machines are now available through KisanKraft's network of over 5,000 dealers across India.
