G. S. Grewal Becomes the New President of TMA, Set to Take Charge
TMA Appoints G. S. Grewal as President for 2026-28
The Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA), which represents India’s tractor and farm mechanization industry, has appointed G. S. Grewal as its President for the 2026-28 term. The announcement was made during TMA’s Annual General Meeting and Annual Business Session in New Delhi.
G. S. Grewal Brings 36+ Years of Industry Experience
- S. Grewal has more than 36 years of experience in the tractor and agricultural machinery industry. His professional experience covers sales, marketing, dealer development, customer service and business management. He currently works as Chief Advisor at Escorts Kubota Limited. Before taking up this role, he served as Managing Director of Kubota Agricultural Machinery India.
Over the years, Grewal has worked with customers, dealers, industry representatives and policymakers. His experience has given him a wide understanding of the needs and challenges of Indian agriculture and farm mechanization.
Grewal Outlines His Priorities for TMA
After his appointment, Grewal said he was honoured to take on the role of TMA President. He noted that Indian agriculture is changing, and farm mechanization will have a bigger role in improving farm productivity, work efficiency and sustainability.
He also said he plans to work closely with TMA members, government bodies, policymakers and other industry stakeholders. The aim will be to improve cooperation within the sector and address the changing needs of Indian farmers.
TMA to Strengthen Industry Cooperation
During his term, Grewal will focus on strengthening TMA’s role in industry cooperation, policy discussions, technology, innovation, sustainable mechanization and the growth of India’s agricultural machinery sector.
He said progress depends on the combined efforts of the industry rather than one person. Grewal plans to continue the work started by previous TMA leaders and make the association a stronger common voice for the tractor and farm mechanization industry.
Growing Need for Farm Mechanization in India
India is one of the world’s largest tractor markets, and the use of farm machinery is also increasing across different crops, regions and farming activities. Labour shortages, changing farming methods, new technologies and the need for sustainable farming practices are expected to increase the demand for farm mechanization in the coming years.
With Grewal as its new President, TMA will continue working with its member companies and other stakeholders to support the long-term growth of India’s tractor and agricultural machinery industry.
