FADA: Tractor Retail Sales Up 13.75% in September 2026

FADA: Tractor Sales Grow 13.75% to 76,906 Units in Sep 2026

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released the retail tractor sales data for September 2026. According to the report, 76,906 tractors were sold across India during the month, compared to 67,612 units in September 2025. This marks a 13.75% year-on-year growth in retail tractor sales.

Tractor retail sales, however, declined compared with the previous month. In August 2026, the industry recorded 87,977 units, meaning September sales fell by around 12.58% month-on-month.

Despite the monthly decline, most major tractor manufacturers recorded year-on-year growth in September 2026. Several leading OEMs also increased their market share during the month.

Brand-wise FADA Retail Tractor Sales Performance

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Tractor Division) continued to lead the retail tractor market with 18,223 units sold in September 2026, compared to 15,524 units in September 2025. The company recorded 17.39% YoY growth. Its market share increased to 23.70% from 22.96%, showing a gain of 0.74%.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Swaraj) Division retained the second position with 13,975 units sold in September 2026, compared to 11,564 units in the same month last year. The division registered 20.86% sales growth. Its market share increased to 18.17% from 17.10%, a gain of 1.07%.

International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) recorded 10,159 units in retail tractor sales in September 2026, compared to 7,995 units in September 2025. The company posted 27.07% YoY growth. Its market share rose to 13.21% from 11.82%, marking a gain of 1.39%.

TAFE Limited recorded 8,605 units in retail tractor sales during September 2026, compared to 7,944 units a year earlier. The company reported 8.32% growth in sales. However, its market share declined to 11.19% from 11.75%, a decrease of 0.56%.

Escorts Kubota Ltd. (Agri Machinery Group) recorded 7,772 units in September 2026, compared to 6,692 units in September 2025. The company registered 16.14% YoY sales growth. Its market share increased to 10.11% from 9.90%, showing a gain of 0.21%.

John Deere India Pvt. Ltd. (Tractor Division) sold 6,007 units in September 2026 against 4,771 units in September 2025. The company recorded 25.91% sales growth. Its market share improved to 7.81% from 7.06%, increasing by 0.75%.

Eicher Tractors recorded 4,410 units in retail sales in September 2026, compared to 3,995 units in the same month last year. The brand registered 10.39% growth in sales. However, its market share fell to 5.73% from 5.91%, a decline of 0.18%.

CNH Industrial (New Holland) India Pvt. Ltd. recorded 3,456 units in retail tractor sales in September 2026, compared to 3,203 units in September 2025. The company posted 7.90% YoY growth. Its market share declined to 4.49% from 4.74%, showing a decrease of 0.25%.

The Others category recorded 4,299 units in September 2026, compared to 5,924 units in September 2025. Sales declined by 27.43%. Its market share also dropped to 5.59% from 8.76%, a decline of 3.17%.

Overall FADA Tractor Retail Sales in September 2026

India’s retail tractor sales reached 76,906 units in September 2026, compared to 67,612 units in September 2025, registering 13.75% year-on-year growth.

The September performance was lower than August’s 87,977 units, resulting in a 12.58% month-on-month decline.

Among the major OEMs, International Tractors Limited and John Deere India recorded the highest YoY growth rates at 27.07% and 25.91%, respectively, followed by Swaraj at 20.86%. Mahindra & Mahindra’s Tractor Division retained the top position with a 23.70% market share, followed by Swaraj at 18.17% and International Tractors Limited at 13.21%.

International Tractors Limited also recorded the highest market-share gain of 1.39%, followed by Swaraj at 1.07%, John Deere at 0.75% and Mahindra Tractor Division at 0.74%. The Others category recorded the biggest market-share decline during the month.
