Odisha’s sweet potato production registered at 330,390 tonnes in 2021-22. This led to its 29.52% contribution to the overall production of sweet potatoes in India.
Uttar Pradesh cultivated 254,250 tonnes of sweet potato during the fiscal year 2021-22. Thus, the state has a contribution of 22.72% of sweet potatoes grown throughout the country.
West Bengal has a significant share of 16.56% in the total sweet potato production of India in 2021-22. This state produced about 185,330 tonnes of sweet potato during 2021-22.
Madhya Pradesh’s sweet potato production stood at 94,560 tonnes in 2021-22. This way, the state accounts for 8.45% of the total sweet potato production in India.
Chhattisgarh’s sweet potato cultivation in 2021-22 was 53,890 tonnes. This resulted in a total share of 4.81% of the overall sweet potato cultivation in the country.
Assam has a total production of 27,660 tonnes of sweet potatoes during the fiscal year 2021-22. This represents its total contribution of 2.47% to the country’s overall production.
Jammu & Kashmir had produced 21,410 tonnes of sweet potatoes. This led to a 1.91% contribution to the total production of sweet potatoes in India’s total cultivation.
