Zetor is a Czechoslovak brand that was founded in the 2nd largest city of Czechoslovakia named ar Brno. While being located in the heart of Europe. Zetor was an important exporter for not just tractors but also for engines powering cars, motorcycles, and machines. The major markets of Zetor consisted of Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Belgium, etc. Zetor was established with a vision to manufacture cheap, lower-weight tractors which can be mass-produced. The list is long but the two notable contributions are of the Unified tractor series which had many breakthrough features including the first safety cabin on a tractor. Secondly, in 1975 Zetor launched the first tractor with a 6 cylinder engine. Zetor was a public company of Czechoslovakia till 1993. In the year 1993, the company was privatized. Later on, due to lack of government support and poor demand for tractors the company was financially unstable. Late on, HTC holding bought major shares into the company and gave Zetor tractors a new life.

Zetor entered India with a strategic view of entering new markets in Asia and South East Asia. The Indian subsidiary is headquartered in Chandigarh. Robert Harman is the Managing Director of Zetor Tractors India.
