Choose a tomato variety according to the climate of your region. For hot and humid regions, select heat-tolerant varieties such as “Pusa Ruby”. And, for a milder climate, pick “Pusa Early Dwarf”.
Tomatoes love sunshine! Plant your tomatoes in a spot that gets plenty of sunshine, at least 6 hours of sun each day. The more sun, the more delicious tomatoes you'll grow.
Giving them space reduces the chances of disease and allows them to grow big and branch out. Plant them about 2 feet apart so they have plenty of room for sunlight.
Tomato plants grow extra stems called "suckers" that steal their energy, and they limit plant development. Pinch them off regularly to help your plant grow more tomatoes.
Tomatoes need rich, well-drained soil. Add compost or manure to your soil before planting. You can also use fertiliser with extra phosphate and potassium to help your plants bloom.
Give them water every 5-7 days in summer and 10-15 days in winter. Regular watering is key to avoiding blossom-end rot and cracked tomatoes. Water the soil with a soaker hose or drip irrigation.
