The popular regions for growing Ladyfinger ( bhindi ) are Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh. These states significantly contribute to ladyfinger production.
We can grow ladyfinger in every soil, which has proper nutrition. A soil pH range of 6 to 6.8 is ideal for ladyfinger plants, and the soil should contain organic matter.
To get the desired yield, provide two to three ploughings in the field before sowing. Make ridges if needed, as it makes the soil appropriate for lady finger cultivation.

The sowing of Lady Finger Season in India is June to July, and the space between each plant should be 30 to 35 cm. Also, the depth for sowing seeds should be 2.5 cm.
