With clean hands, remove the plant's youngest leaves and leaf buds.
Blemish the leaves and allow them to dry for a few hours in the shade.
Next, steam the leaves for a minute over a low flame on your stove. (If you want a different flavour, consider roasting them for 2 minutes in a skillet rather than steaming them.)
After steaming, spread the leaves on a baking sheet and dry them for roughly 20 minutes at 250 F.
Finally, put the dried tea leaves in an airtight container for storage.
