Ash Gourd is a warm-season crop, requiring temperatures between 24°C and 31°C for optimal growth. It develops well in humid conditions as it needs higher rainfall.
Ash Gourd can be produced on any type of soil. A deep sandy loam soil with proper drainage is best for the cultivation of Ash Gourd at a soil pH level between 6.0 and 6.5.
