Retail Tractor Sales Report May 2025

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has shared the latest retail sales data for the tractor segment for May 2025. According to the report, 71,992 tractors were sold in May 2025, representing a 2.75% increase from the 70,063 units sold in May 2024.

Despite mixed results across leading tractor companies, the overall industry remained positive. This steady growth shows good rural demand and early seasonal activity.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Overview – May 2025

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Tractor Division) remained the market leader, selling 16,511 units in May 2025. This represents a 3.71% increase from 15,921 units last year. Its market share rose slightly from 22.72% to 22.93%.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Swaraj Division) sold 13,643 units in May, compared to 13,101 units in the same month last year, achieving a 4.14% growth. Its market share also improved from 18.70% to 18.95%.

International Tractors Ltd (Sonalika brand) recorded sales of 9,620 units, up from 9,228 units in May 2024. This is a 4.25% increase, with market share moving from 13.17% to 13.36%.

Escorts Kubota Ltd (Agri Machinery Group) reported strong growth, selling 8,161 units, up from 7,656 units in the previous year. This represents a 6.60% growth, with the market share increasing from 10.93% to 11.34%.

TAFE Ltd saw a decline in sales, dropping to 7,502 units from 8,516 units in May 2024. This is a 11.91% drop, with market share decreasing from 12.15% to 10.42%.

John Deere India Pvt Ltd performed well, selling 5,924 units in May, up from 5,130 units in the same month last year. This is a 15.48% increase, with market share improving from 7.32% to 8.23%.

Eicher Tractors sold 4,311 units, down slightly from 4,465 units last year, showing a 3.45% decline. Its market share dropped from 6.37% to 5.99%.

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd sold 3,051 units, up from 2,897 units last May. This represents a 5.32% growth, with the m arket share increasing from 4.13% to 4.24%.

Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd saw a sharp drop in sales, down to 797 units from 1,157 units in May 2024. This represents a 31.11% decline, with the market share decreasing from 1.65% to 1.11%.

Other Brands, including regional and smaller companies, sold 2,472 units, up from 1,992 units last year. This marks a 24.10% increase, with market share improving from 2.84% to 3.43%.
