Mumbai, October 8, 2025: Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The initiative aims to train rural youth in industry-relevant skills and open pathways to employment across the agriculture and farm machinery sector.
Mahindra Tractors, India’s No.1 tractor brand, has set up the centre at the Government ITI College in Gadchiroli. The initiative is in collaboration with the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET) and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS). It is aligned with the government’s vision of enhancing skill development and leveraging India’s demographic advantage.
The centre offers a structured curriculum led by expert trainers. Students will gain practical knowledge of tractors and farm machinery, using modern technical equipment. In addition to technical training, the programme opens career opportunities across the ecosystem, including manufacturing, sales, and dealership services.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Veejay Nakra, President - Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “We are honoured by the Prime Minister’s support for the Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli. Maharashtra holds a vital place in India’s agricultural progress, and this initiative represents our commitment to empowering rural youth through skill-based growth and opportunity”.
Mahindra Tractors has been India’s leading tractor manufacturer for nearly four decades. Known for their rugged build and fuel-efficient performance, Mahindra Tractors have earned global recognition, including the prestigious Deming Award and the Japanese Quality Medal. In March 2024, the company became the first Indian tractor brand to sell 4 million tractors globally, with a presence in over 50 countries.
The brand offers the widest range of over 300 models, supported by a strong network for sales, service, and spare parts, ensuring high resale value. Beyond tractors, the company also provides self-propelled and tractor-driven farm machinery across the agri-machinery value chain.
