Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has shared its tractor sales data for May 2025. The company sold 38,914 tractors in the domestic market, which is higher than 35,237 units sold in May 2024. This shows a 10% growth in domestic sales compared to the same month last year.
If we include exports, the total tractor sales in May 2025 reached 40,643 units, compared to 37,109 units in May 2024. This means there was an overall 10% increase in total sales.
However, exports alone saw a drop. In May 2025, Mahindra exported 1,729 tractors, which is less than 1,872 units in May 2024. This shows an 8% decrease in export sales.

From April to May 2025, Mahindra sold 77,430 tractors in India, up from 71,042 units during the same period last year. This shows a 9% growth in domestic sales so far in the current financial year.
Exports during this YTD period also improved. Mahindra exported 3,267 tractors from April to May 2025, compared to 3,106 units last year. This indicates a 5% growth in exports.
So, in total, Mahindra’s YTD sales (April to May 2025) stood at 80,697 units, which is higher than 74,148 units sold in the same period last year. This shows a 9% overall increase in tractor sales.
Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., commented on the performance. He said, “We have sold 38,914 tractors in the domestic market during May 2025, a 10% growth over last year.”
He added, “The early arrival of the Southwest monsoon, expected to be above normal, should support Kharif sowing. Land preparation is going well, especially for paddy cultivation.”
Mr. Nakra also mentioned that the government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) hike for paddy and other kharif crops is likely to boost farmer confidence.
He said, “Better water reservoir levels, record foodgrain production, and government schemes will help farmers improve productivity. This will also increase tractor demand in the coming months.” Talking about exports, he confirmed, “We sold 1,729 tractors in export markets in May 2025.”
