Mahindra & Mahindra Sees 22% Growth in Tractor Sales for December 2024

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has shared its tractor sales for December 2024. Domestic sales reached 22,019 units, up from 18,028 units in December 2023, showing a 22% increase.
In total, 22,943 tractors were sold in December 2024, including exports. This is higher than the 19,138 units sold in the same month last year. Exports for the month were 924 units, down from 1,110 units in December 2023, showing a 17% decrease.

In December 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra shared its Year-to-Date (YTD) tractor sales data. The company’s domestic sales grew by 9% in 2024, reaching 324,327 units compared to 297,157 units in 2023.
The export market also saw impressive growth, increasing by 28%, as per Mahindra's 2024 sales report. In December 2024, the company sold 12,296 units abroad, up from 9,585 units in December 2023. Overall, Mahindra sold 336,623 units in December 2024, a 10% increase from 306,742 units sold in the same month last year. This shows a significant improvement in the company’s export performance.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said,“ We have sold 22019 Mahindra tractors in the domestic market during December 2024, a growth of 22% over last year. Sentiments have remained positive in December on account of positive cash flow momentum from Kharif harvest. Additionally, favourable reservoir levels have resulted in strong sowing for the rabi season, further bolstering demand for tractors. Looking ahead, the tractor industry is poised for significant growth, underpinned by positive agricultural sentiments and favourable terms of trade for farmers. In the exports market, we have sold 924 tractors.”
