Indian Domestic Tractor Sales Report September 2025

The Indian domestic tractor industry recorded total sales of 146,180 units, a significant increase from 100,542 units in September 2024. This marks an overall industry growth of 45.39%. The strong rural demand, favourable monsoon conditions, and improved market conditions. Major players like M&M Group and TAFE drove growth, while smaller brands also benefited, making the tractor market active and rapidly expanding.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Performance – September 2025

M&M Group sold 64,946 tractors, a significant increase from 43,201 units in September 2024. This marks a strong growth of 50.33% year-on-year. Their market share has also risen from 42.97% to 44.43% in 2025, resulting in a Year-over-Year (YoY) market share gain of 1.46%.

Tafe Group recorded sales of 27,530 tractors in September 2025, up from 17,984 in the same month last year. This makes an impressive growth of 53.08%. The market share increased from 17.89% to 18.83%, gaining a YoY share of 0.95%, making it the second-largest player in the market.

Sonalika sold 17,971 tractors in September 2025, compared to 14,309 in September 2024, achieving a growth of 25.59%. However, despite this sales growth, the company saw a decline in market share from 14.23% to 12.29%. This resulted in a market share loss of -1.94% YoY, which suggests that its growth did not keep pace with the overall market expansion.

Escorts Kubota posted sales of 17,803 tractors this September, up from 11,985 units last year, achieving a growth rate of 48.54%. Its market share also improved from 11.92% to 12.18%, reflecting a YoY increase of 0.26%, showing steady performance.

John Deere sold 9,240 tractors in September 2025, up from 7,004 in 2024, marking a growth of 31.92%. However, its market share dropped from 6.97% to 6.32%, indicating a YoY decline of -0.65%, highlighting growth below overall market growth.

New Holland’s tractor sales rose to 6,825 units in September 2025 from 4,503 a year ago, showing a growth of 51.57%. The brand’s market share also rose slightly from 4.48% to 4.67%, gaining 0.19% YoY, keeping up with the broader market growth.

VST reported sales of 357 units this year, compared to 268 in September 2024, with a growth of 33.21%. Yet, their market share decreased slightly from 0.27% to 0.24%, leading to a YoY market share loss of -0.02%. This shows that they grew slower than the industry average.

Indo Farm achieved 402 unit sales in September 2025, rising from 341 units in the previous year. This reflects a growth of 17.89%. However, the market share dropped from 0.34% to 0.28%, which means a YoY loss of -0.06%.

SDF sold 86 tractors in September 2025, up from 55 the previous year, marking the highest growth rate of 56.36%. Its market share remained flat at 0.06%, with no YoY change (0.00%). It indicates that while growth was strong, its contribution to the overall market size remained marginal.

Captain tractor recorded 240 tractor sales in September, increasing from 138 in the prior year, achieving a growth of 73.91%. This is the highest growth rate among all the other brands. Its market share increased slightly from 0.14% to 0.16%, a YoY gain of 0.03%, signalling a marginal improvement in market position.

Preet sold 475 tractors this year, up from 436 in September 2024, resulting in a growth of 8.94%, which is comparatively low. Their market share dropped from 0.43% to 0.32%, leading to a YoY decline of -0.11%, indicating a drop in competitive position.

ACE reported 305 unit sales in September 2025, down from 318 in September 2024, making it the only brand with a fall of -4.09%. Consequently, their market share dropped from 0.32% to 0.21%, a YoY decrease of -0.11%, reflecting decreasing market presence.
