Escorts Kubota Sells 5,472 Tractors in December 2024, Showing Decline from Last Year

Escorts Kubota Limited's Agri Machinery Business Division has announced the sale of its tractors for December 2024. This brand sold 5,472 tractors in December 2024, as against 6,136 tractors sold during the same period last year.

Domestic sales were 12.5 per cent lower at 5,016 tractors from 5731 sold last October. The company said it is expecting the demand momentum to rise due to kharif procurement, strong rabi sowing, and better water levels in reservoirs. All these factors are likely to keep sales buoyant for the next few months. But export sales have risen to 456 tractors from 405 last year. That means a 12.6% growth in export sales.

Escorts also released its quarterly report (Q3) data for October to December 2024. In these 3 months, its domestic sales stood at 31585 units to 29784 units in the same quarter last year. This shows an increase of 6% in sales.

Exports sales for Q3 stood at 971 units to 1371 units in the same quarter last year. This indicates a major decline of 29.2% in the export sales. In total, 32556 units were sold this quarter compared to 31155 units sold last year in Q3. This is 4.5% more in Q3 domestic and export sales this year.

Escorts reported its YoY tractor sales figure for April to December 2024. For the nine months, its total sales stood at 88921 units, down 0.8% from the 89649 units sold during the corresponding time last year.

Domestic tractor sales rose by 0.5% to 85,762 units in FY 2024 from 85,371 units in FY 2023. This is a slight positive trend. Exports had decreased significantly. During FY 2024, exports were only 3,159 units, compared to FY 2023 export of 4,278 units, which decreased by 26.2%.
