Domestic Tractor Market Grows 9.12% in May 2025 with 90,500 Units Sold

Domestic tractor sales report may 2025

India’s tractor market experienced significant growth in May 2025. Tractor sales went up by 9.12% compared to May 2024. A total of 90,500 tractors were sold this May, more than the 82,934 sold in the same month last year. This shows strong demand and good performance by most tractor brands.

Domestic Tractor Sales Report May 2025 - Brand Wise

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) stayed at the top in May 2025 by selling 38,914 tractors, which is 10.44% more than the 35,237 tractors sold in May 2024. Due to this growth, Mahindra’s market share increased to 43.00%, a rise of 0.51%, further strengthening its leading position in India.

TAFE Group, which includes Massey Ferguson and Eicher, was in second place. It sold 16,061 tractors, 12.44% more than the 14,284 sold last year. Its market share grew from 17.22% to 17.75% because of the high demand for mid-power tractors.

Sonalika Tractors sold 11,812 units in May 2025, a 6.12% increase from 11,131 units last year. But even with more sales, its market share dropped from 13.42% to 13.05%, showing strong competition.

Escorts Group (now Escorts Kubota) saw a small drop in sales. It sold 9,703 tractors in May 2025, down 1.95% from 9,896 last year. Its market share fell from 11.93% to 10.72%, the biggest loss among the major brands in May.

John Deere performed well in May 2025, selling 8,258 tractors, which is 14.54% more than the 7,210 units sold last year. Its market share increased by 0.43%, reaching 9.12%, as the demand for its premium tractors is high.

New Holland Agriculture also showed steady growth, selling 3,820 units, 10.89% more than last year. Its market share went up slightly from 4.15% to 4.22%, helped by its focus on special market areas.

Among the smaller brands, Captain Tractors saw a drop in sales. It sold 407 units, down 9.35% from 449 units last year. Its market share also fell from 0.54% to 0.45%. 

Preet Tractors saw a small growth of 3.58% in May 2025 by selling 405 tractors, slightly up from 391 units sold in May 2024. Even though sales increased, its market share dropped slightly because the entire tractor market also expanded.

Indo Farm also had a small increase in sales, selling 386 tractors in May 2025, compared to 372 units in May 2024. This represents a 3.76% rise; however, its market share decreased slightly from 0.45% to 0.43%, resulting in a 0.02% decline.

VST Tillers Tractors sold 338 units in May 2025, just two more than the 336 units sold last year. This was a very small growth of 0.60%. However, its market share dropped from 0.41% to 0.37%, showing a small decline of 0.03%.

ACE Tractors stood out with strong performance. It sold 337 tractors in May 2025, a big jump from 131 units in May 2024. This is a huge growth of 157.25%. Its market share also increased from 0.16% to 0.37%, a good gain of 0.21%, showing that more buyers are trusting the brand.

Same Deutz-Fahr (SDF) also showed a good increase in sales, selling 59 tractors in May 2025 compared to 52 in May 2024. This means a growth of 13.46%. Even with this growth, its market share stayed the same at 0.07%.
